San Francisco favorites, the band Tartufi (Voted Best Band SF Bay Guardian)
and comedian/musician Paco Romane (Voted Best Comedian SF Bay Guardian) will teach your kids how
to ROCK! Tartufi and Paco have joined musical and funny forces to create one Giant Kids Band, The OWIES!
The three of us will teach in each class. So the kids will have plenty of one-on-one and group playing in our new school of rock, Saturday Morning Rock Out!
Saturday Morning Rock Out! is designed to spark an interest in music in young children (ages 4-7) by encouraging them to engage, interact,
and have fun while creating songs with their peers and instructors. The children will form their own band and be responsible for all areas of it.
Collectively they will:
name the band
write lyrics
develop a melody and arrangement
rehearse
design album art
perform the song at the cd release party held on the last class.
develop social skills with kids in their age group
have a lot of FUN!
Watch "The Fireballs" record release show. Here
8 Students will be introduced to the main instruments of rock and roll: guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and vocals,
as well as glockenspiel and a variety of percussion instruments. They will receive rudimentary lessons on each instrument and in basic music
theory. Most importantly they will learn the basic practice of playing within a group, to learn, share ideas and to have fun with music.
The instructors at Saturday Morning Rock Out! have over 30 years of collective experience teaching, performing, recording, writing, and producing music.
Simply put, Saturday Morning Rock Out! will teach your child how to rock.
Saturday Morning Rock Out! will meet every Saturday morning, for 6 weeks at the
Killing My Lobster Headquarters (2101 Folsom St. SF CA MAP),
Please sign up for our email list so we can notify you for our new classes.
Thanks, The Owies!
