Parents Should Expect:
--that the safety and education of your child are our first priorities.
--that having a great time with them is a close second.
--that your child will be given direct and individual attention in all areas covered in Saturday Morning Rock Out!
--that this class will teach your child about rock music, song-writing, and being in a band, but your child will not come home playing guitar like Jack White or singing like Thom Yorke (that comes in section 2).
--that your child will leave the class with a newfound passion for music.
--that regardless of your little rocker's habits at home, no drugs or alcohol will be permitted during class, with the possible exception of an inhaler.
--that after this class your child may in fact be cooler than you.
Kids Should Expect:
--to learn about rock music and playing in a band.
--to make new friends.
--to share ideas and listen to their band-mates.
--to play instruments when the band is rehearsing, arranging the song, or during free play at the end of each class. A great deal of band works occurs through discussion and debate. Especially in the first two classes we will be talking and brainstorming more than playing instruments. Please make this very clear to your child before the first class.
--to be the coolest kids under 8 in San Francisco, possibly in the whole country.
